Item Description
1.25" beautiful c. 1903 promotional button showing "W. William/A. Hicks Owners" with Chicago Dearborn St. address and name of proposed new manufacturing city "Lena Park." Likely inspired by Coney Island's large scale working class amusement park, this land tract near Chicago in Northwestern Indiana was heavily promoted to the city's immigrants. Thousands of tiny lots were sold and for a time a glass factory operated, but the promised industrial development never happened. Light all-over surface wear shows only with magnification. Displays as glossy and Mint. Missing backpaper. Rare.
