Item Description
Lot of 2 1940s Quaker Puffed Sparkies cereal boxes. 6x9x2.5” "Quaker Puffed Rice Sparkies" box. Back box panel features a Consolidated PB2Y-2 airplane. Box still sealed with original contents. Lt. wear to box surface from storage. Top edge of the front of the box has a indent and some creasing. Side panels show Lt. abrasions to the box surface. Overall, box has an appearance that is about FN. Second box is “Quaker Puffed Wheat Sparkies” and measures 6x10x2.5”. Back box panel features illustration of a Lockheed P-38 “Lightning” airplane. Right side panel has an advertisement promoting the Terry & The Pirates radio program. Left panel features an illustration telling children to save the 12 exciting “Wings of Victory” pictures like the example found on the back of this cereal box which is #7 in the series. Overall, cereal box displays about FN with the exception of a 3.25” piece of the upper flap which was removed.
