Item numbers 800 though 2307 in auction 193
Item Description
27" tall to top of separate lacquered felt top hat. c. early 1930s. Most likely German. Based on Dietrich's break-out role as a tuxedo-wearing nightclub singer in 1930's "Morocco." Composition torso and head with jointed composition arms and feet. Lower torso and legs are stuffed fabric. Detailed tuxedo features fabric flower and pearl buttons. Nice facial accents closely resemble Dietrich with the addition of a painted mustache as produced though torso is clearly female. Life-like hair has faded slightly where not covered by top hat. A few scattered typical small hairline cracks appear on hands and at eyes and hair. Small paint scuffs at eyebrows. Fine.
