Item Description
5.5x8.5x10.25" tall beautifully painted and glazed figurine with mark on underside for this Italian company along with series number "W65." This company signed a contract with Disney in 1947 which lasted for about ten years. This figurine is the matching piece to the Ferdinand we offered in Auction #191. Zaccagnini made some of the finest Disney figurines ever produced and this particular one is among the most striking. An exceptional image, expressive pose and vibrant coloring. The red paint is over-the-glaze and as such there are some tiny traces of color rubs mostly concentrated to a few extreme edges of the cape he holds in one hand. There is also a tiny nick on bottom edge of cape as well as back pointed tip of hair but these are noted only for complete accuracy. Remains totally bright and glossy. Exc. All the pieces by this company are rare and this is the first of this figurine that we have ever offered.
