This 1937 beautifully colored map was sent folded to recipients and opens to 20x26.5". The one offered here is mounted in a 25.5x32" black mat with a sheet of foam core on the reverse. The map carries the imprint of "Carey's Sta Fresh Bread." The map features the world showing the path traveled by Mickey and his competitor The Big Bad Wolf who are in a race. Small images of them and other Disney characters are scattered over the continents. The top and bottom margins of the map have areas to mount 24 different cards. No cards are actually mounted on this example but more than enough are included in the lot to complete it. In this lot with the map comes an uncut 6x13" sheet of cards. Twelve cards are depicted. The sheet has 3 horizontal folds on the margins between the cards and 2 of these folds have a minor 1" hairline split on the crease line. All cards are quite clean. In addition, there are a total of 38 loose cards, each measuring 2x3.75". Twelve of these duplicate those on the sheet (9 showing the flag of a particular country, 3 without a country flag). There are 8 additional with a flag of a country and 18 without a flag. In addition to the cards are 4-page folders each 5x8.5" titled "Mickey Mouse Globe Trotter Weekly." These are issue numbers 4, 5, 8, 9 and 10. Each of these has 4 additional card cut-outs on the reverse while inside most include b/w advertising for Pevely Dairy of St. Louis and the ads feature Mickey and Minnie. These are extremely Fine. The map itself is N. Mint although the mat and foam core backing has a small indent along its bottom edge. An extensive group from this historic promotion.
