Item Description
Approximately 5x7". c. 1950s. Painted plaster. Recessed back to hold string ball. Hole for string at mouth. Bottom marked "202" but no other markings. From same series as Popeye and Olive Oyl string holders in Auction #191-1841, 1842. We have had two Popeye string holders and one Olive Oyl string holder from this series but this is the first we've seen of Swee Pea. Nice, full front view depicts Swee Pea as character appeared in comics and cartoons of the time. Extremely clean and as nice as we've seen any of these string holders. N. Mint.
