15" tall painted solid plaster statue. c. 1940. Great full-figure image of Superman with raised "S" on his chest and painted in scarce yellow/red color combination. Nicely detailed face has red facial accents on cheeks and mouth. Dark sparkle remnants remain on cape, belt and Superman symbol. Most Superman carnival statues were produced fully three-dimensional, this variety having completely flat and unpainted back. Moderate paint nicks/flakes with color touch-up on left knee. Excess material adhered to Superman's right arm. Fine. Rare variety.
