Item Description
5x7.5" paper envelope has classic art from cover of "Batman" No. 9 comic book. Envelope contains two 4x7-3/8" decal transfer sheets. This is the earliest known Batman store item. ©1944 Detective Comics Inc. Of the original transfers, all remain and are 100% complete. Transfers include "Batman" logo plus 4 Batman transfers, 2 Batman and Robin transfers, 3 Robin transfers, Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson, The Joker, The Penguin, Linda, Alfred The Demon Detective as well as Batmobile and Batplane. As transfers were stored atop one another, one has excess surface paper and other has about 20% of back missing from surface paper lift. Tiny 1/8" chip off corner, o/w complete. Transfers remain bright and vivid. Fine display. Envelope notes original 10¢ price and has 3/8x1" chip off top right corner. Envelope evenly aged and VG/Fine. From the Craig Warren Collection.
