Item Description
6.25" tall solid painted plastic figure. Part of the "Marvel Family Statuettes" series by R.W. Kerr Co. 1946. Set consisted of Captain Marvel, (see previous item #1843) Captain Marvel Jr., Mary Marvel (see following item#1845) and Hoppy The Marvel Bunny. Captain Marvel Jr. stands on base with "Capt. Marvel Jr." name on front and Fawcett Publications Inc. copyright on back. Statuette has Kerr decal on bottom but has some flaking and is 95% complete. .25x.5" spot of paint did not adhere to statuette's left leg below knee as produced. Right leg has hairline stress line below knee but this is as produced and figure is still structurally sound. Hairline crack at ankle. VF. C.C. Beck - designed box features great art including scene on one panel of Captain Marvel holding Mary Marvel statuette while other panel depicts all 4 statuettes. Box has factory "Capt. Marvel Jr." stamp on end panel. Opposite end panel has company information intact. Panel showing statuette art has 2.75" tear radiating from corner but only visible upon close inspection. Box is aged with some light wear. Fine.
