Item Description
This unusual cute and rare bisque does not carry the Mickey Mouse name nor a Disney copyright, which may have been on a paper label now missing but is marked on the underside "Made In Japan." The bisque ashtray area is basically an oval with an extension on its rear edge so the piece measures 3.5" across, 3" front to back and stands 1" tall. The recessed ashtray area is glazed while the other areas are unglazed. Molded on the upper rear surface of the base are Mickey's shoes leading to a pair of 1" tall springs which allow the figure 3.25" tall overall to rock back and forth either gently or rather violently depending upon how much of a shake the piece is given. The Mickey image is very nicely detailed much like a standard 3.5" bisque. Moderate paint wear and some darkening of the paint due to use and age but overall Fine condition. A rarity among the bisque figures depicting Mickey.
