7x9x3.25" deep metal box by Universal c. 1954. Front panel features map of the U.S., each state has small images of landmarks, products, people, etc. indicative of that state. Additional illustrations surround the map along w/text designations of "Canada/Pacific/Atlantic/Mexico/Gulf of Mexico." Back panel is solid red, band is gray. Small scattered wear to the interior, small scattered trace of rim wear on front, a bit heavier rim wear on back. Front and back panels also have filaform corrosion lines although mostly only visible in reflected light. Front edge of metal handle has surface rust w/a bit also on the latch. Band shows only small traces of wear. Despite the aging, appearance remains very glossy. VG. Rare.
