Item Description
Lot of three different balloon toys all by Oak Rubber Co. First two are 1930s, third is 1940s. Each is complete and unused in original packaging about 5.5x8". First is "Stratosphere Balloon." Illustrated paper envelope contains original generic balloon and 4x14" die-cut cardboard "basket" attachment that features images of Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Pluto. Donald is reading booklet titled "Remedies For Air Sickness." Envelope has light edge wear. VF. Basket N. Mint. Second is "Toss-Up Toy Balloon" with large figural Mickey balloon and large pair of die-cut cardboard shoes it attaches to. Paper envelope with cellophane window has moderate scattered margin wear with creases and some small tears, aging to reverse. VG/Fine. Balloon remains pliable, contents display Mint as issued. Third is later version of "Toss-Up Balloon." Totally different balloon featuring Mickey image plus smaller die-cut cardboard shoes. Cellophane envelope has moderate wear with creases and small tears including 1" tear on bottom margin with clear tape repair. VG. Balloon is aged and has small tear at bottom but still totally pliable, VF while shoes are Mint. A nice lot and all are scarce due to their fragile nature. From the Tomart Archives and comes with COA signed by Tom Tumbusch & Ted Hake.
