Item Description
Original styrofoam shipping container contains 12.5x16" wide, 12.5" deep porcelain diorama featuring classic scene from Carl Barks story of Uncle Scrooge sitting atop heap of coins, holding one as he tells story to Huey, Dewey and Louie as Donald Duck sits at desk. Scene is complimented by money bags, safe, treasure chest and crown. Front of diorama has porcelain scroll which has a facsimile Carl barks signature and reads "Carl Barks - This Dollar Saved My Life At Whitehorse." Diorama rests on wooden base. Released in 1998 by Italian company Capodimonte, scene was created by artist Enzo Arzenton, founder of the House of Laurenz. Produced using the centuries old tradition of casting pure Italian Capodimonte porcelain. Released through Forest Lamps and Gifts of New York in 2 limited editions totaling 250 pieces. The Regular Edition consisted of 235 pieces, the remaining 15 comprising the Another Rainbow Edition, of which the example we are offering is 15/15. This extremely limited edition originally retailed for $3,500 ($4,950 for the first in the series) and came with a special encapsulated signature of Carl barks attached to the Certificate of Authenticity. Mint as packaged. Extremely high quality.
