8.5x13x1" deep Set No. 1 and 6x13.5x1" deep set No. 1A contain various metal parts for these construction sets. 1920s. Made in England. Set No. 1 has edge wear on all 4 top sides, some dust on applied label. Inside label has some rust streaks. Both labels depict happy boys showing off their completed projects. Set No. 1A which is billed on the label as an accessory outfit only to be used only with the regular set No. 1 has heavy wear to one end including split corners and tears going 3" in on side panel edges. Both sets include plated accessories in silver and brass color as well as painted accessories. Some of the silver plated parts show oxidation. Overall parts are VG to VF. This lot also includes extensive 134 page Meccano instruction booklet for their complete line of models and shows as well list and illustrations of available parts. Booklet has dust soil on covers,Fine. Contents VF. An interesting group from this famous English manufacturer who was in competition with the Erector Company from the U.S.A.
