Item Description
46" long painted pressed steel unmarked but by Murray late 1940s. Station wagon is done in Woody style with a fiberboard seat, a working tailgate, and painted accents including steering wheel, wheel hubs, windshield, bumper, side rails. There is a plated airplane hood ornament as well. Two of the four tires have heavy wear but these can easily be replaced from pedal car dealers found on the internet. Toy has overall general wear including scratches, oxidation on hood ornament and bumper, light fading of paint, some additional light oxidation . At some point an additional plate was added under the car at the station wagon bed portion. The welding of this caused a few 2" to 3" Dia. areas of paint in the bed of the wagon to burn off, not that noticable against the brown color of the bed. There are remnants of a decal on the back portion of the seat. This decal is most likely available from pedal car dealers. One interesting feature of this toy is that it has a Hawaiian "Kaukauna" Island license plate on the front bumper from 1949. Overall the condition of this toy is Fine. This car is a good candidate for leaving "as is" in untouched, unrestored condition as it still has a very nice overall appearance in this, its original state.
