Item Description
2-3/16" pocket mirror with maroon cardboard case. Cello has 3 tiny raised bumps in reflected light and silvering is cloudy. Cello remains clean and displays Mint. She was daughter of French aristocrat and a flower girl. In 1924 she played "Mistinguett" at Casino de Paris, in 1925 a hit song gave her "Grande Chanteuse" status in Paris, in 1927, probably year of this mirror, she was on the cover of Moulin Rouge's magazine "Paris Aux Etoiles." Her USA career in the 1930s included Broadway musicals and movies with Bob Hope, Gypsy Rose Lee and others. Noted for her elegance, her career extended into 1960s TV. First we've seen.
