Item Description
2.5x7.25x5.25" tall. c. 1920s. Tin litho toy with built-in key. Made in Germany by Einfalt. 3.75" tall figures are attached to wheeled platform connected by thin flat tin strip. Both figures have separate arms. Maggie holds a rolling pin in one hand. Jiggs hand with the cane was missing, this has now been professionly replaced and attached to the original arm. All other parts of the toy are original. "Maggie" appears on her dress while "Jiggs" appears on his hat. Under Maggie is a spotted dog. Toy works and travels back and forth making quick stops which cause the two figures to lunge at each other swinging their arms. A few scratches, mostly evident where arms move against toy. Works well. Back of dress reads "Copyright 1924 By International Features Syndicate/Geo. McManus." Overall color remains bright and glossy. Fine. From the Tomart Archives and comes with COA signed by Tom Tombusch and Ted Hake.
