First is "Baby Joan Palooka" boxed puppet. 2-3/8x8.5x12" box contains 10" tall full bodied puppet with "Life-like Vinylite" head, hands and feet. By National Mask and Puppet. Box text reads "The Joe Palookas Present Their Baby Joan Palooka" and features Ham Fisher's Joe Palooka, wife Ann and Baby Joan illustration. Box lid shows obvious wear, particularly along edges and at corners. One corner split. Small surface paper lift in upper right corner. Box bottom includes original insert and corners remain tight. Box VG. Comes with instruction sheet. Puppet itself has attached baby blanket to hide hand when in use. Blanket with scattered aging. VF. Puppet itself is bright, clean and vinyl remains pliable. Exc. Also included are pair of puppets, both made by National Mask and Puppet. c. early 1950s. 14" tall full body of Palooka. Humphrey hand puppet measures 10" tall with bells attached to hands. Humphrey's pliable rubber head has hardened. .5" crack in chin with 1/16x.25" chip missing. Original felt hands with attached bells remain intact. Joe's head remains pliable, but hands/feet have hardened. Scattered spots on Joe's face/shirt. Overall both are Fine.
