This sign advertises the number one ranked Platinum Age comic book as stated in a 2008 Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide. Overstreet also notes that a Fine+ copy of the book sold in 2006 for $17,000. This sign features the same text and artwork as that book's cover with the addition of "Now In Book Form With More Than 100 Illustrations" at the top and "For Sale Here" at the bottom. That book featured Outcault Sunday comic page art reprints along with some original drawings. Additional sign text reads "The Yellow Kid In McFadden's Flats By E.W. Townsend Author Of Chimmie Fadden And R.F. Outcault Creator Of The Yellow Kid/G.W. Dillingham Co. Publishers New York." Yellow Kid is depicted with phrase on his shirt "Dis Book Is De Story Of Me Sweet Young Life." Small trace of margin wear as mounted including 3 tiny 1/16" to 1/8" corner tip pieces missing. Faint horizontal crease at center near invisible as mounted. Remains totally bright and clean with strong color. Displays VF. Rare.
