Item Description
27x41" poster for 1923 Robert McGowan-directed Hal Roach story featuring "His Rascals." Poster was printed by the Morgan Litho Co. of Cleveland, OH. 20 minute Pathécomedy short comedy deals with the kids watching a real horse race and then deciding to hold one of their own, only using barnyard animals and pets. Short features Joe Cobb, Jackie Co0per, Mickey Daniels, Allen "Farina" Hoskins, Mary Kornman, Ernie "Sunshine Sammy" Morrison and Jackie Davis. Vibrant art showcases this kids' race, with dogs, mule, cow and ponies racing, Farina struggling to stay in the lead on a tricycle as a crowd of children cheer in stands. Poster was original folded, and has some light professional touch-ups to some fold lines, but as linen-mounted, poster displays Exc. A truly spectacular poster example from the silent Roach Our Gang days.
