This watch with this style case was first introduced in 1938 but with a silver luster case. This is the much rarer "Gold Electroplated" case variety produced from 1939 through 1942 and issued in several slightly different boxed varieties. This box variety is for 1942, identifiable as such due to the red accent strips on right/left sides of the clear plastic cover that fits over the cardboard box bottom. Cover features portraits of Mickey and Minnie. Top right corner of cover has a 1" crack, additional scattered edge wear. Box bottom has small trace of edge wear with some color rubs. Box itself is very rare, Fine overall. Watch has original brown leather straps which show wear. Gold luster of watch case not quite as bright as issued but much luster remains. Dial is clean.
