Item Description
5x7.5x9.25" tall consisting of painted tin tricycle w/wood Krazy Kat figure that has leather ears and cloth over wire arms. Has rubber-covered wire tail w/wood tip. Has attached pull cord w/wood ball on end. By Chein © 1932 King Features Syndicate Inc. Decal on body has Ignatz name and copyright. Decal is slightest bit mis-applied at lower left corner so "Chein" name is missing o/w decal remains 100% intact. As toy is pulled along, Ignatz's legs move as if peddling the bike. Underside has bellows mechanism which also moves, however, it no longer produces a squeak. One ear has some lt. creases w/flaking of black color. Base of tail where it meets the body has tiny bit of the rubber covering missing but tail remains firmly intact. Front underside edge of head where it joins the body has a .25" sliver flake, only noticeable if piece is turned over. Toy has just slightest aging w/some dust soiling. VF. See this and other Krazy Kat toys in Chein catalogue folder #2629. Provenance of Philip Samuels collection.
