Item Description
Published by Famous Funnies Inc. in Oct., 1936. Front cover features cartoon characters looking at billboard with real bw photo image of "G-Man" aiming tommy gun. Billboard reads "Authentic Stories Of The G-Men Beginning In This Issue - Read War On Crime." This is the first True Crime in comics (consisting of reprints) and features the first photo on a modern comic book format photo. Comic has Buck Rogers, stereotypical black character in "The Nebs," Joe Palooka, Napoleon, Seaweed Sam and "The Frog Pond Ferry" among others. Jane Arden cut-outs remain intact and book is complete. Artist Bob Bliss draws self into "Queenie." Issue has handling wear with staple pulls at spine and .25" splits at top and bottom of spine. Light cover foxing at margins. VG/Fine.
