Rutter was a veteran script supervisor in Hollywood in the 50s-80s. He worked for Gene Autry Productions which produced Annie Oakley's show. He also worked on a variety of other TV shows including Fury, The Roy Rogers Show and Lassie. Later he was script supervisor for Star Trek, Bonanza, The FBI, Remington Steel and Lou Grant.
