Complete set c. 1951 by Banner. 28 pieces. Choice full color tin litho items include 10.75x14.5" serving tray, four 4.75" dia. plates and four 3.25" saucers. The saucers/plates each feature a different character illustration at center with additional rim images. The tray features specialty art of the tea party in which the characters are actually using this very tea set. Tray has scattered rim wear with some indents and a few tiny traces of oxidation. Fine. Other tin pieces have just tiny wear with exception of plate featuring the walrus which has small spot of oxidation. Overall these pieces are o/w VF. The plastic pieces include teapot with lid, 4 cups, creamer and sugar plus 4 forks, spoons and knives. All of these pieces have figural character handles that vary from piece to piece. This includes teapot with Alice handle, dormouse handle on lid and caterpillar on spout. The creamer originally had a Cheshire Cat handle but this has been replaced by a White Rabbit handle. Pink plastic of 2 cups and sugar are a bit faded. These pieces are Fine, other with exception of replacement handle are VF/Exc. A very nicely designed and detailed set. Rarely found complete.
