Complete set of 86 different comic character buttons given with Pep cereal in 1945-1946. Each is 13/16" litho color portrait. This is a very high-grade set with only minimal paint wear. All N. Mint to Mint. This set inspired more comic character collectors than any other item in the 40s and as these go into collections, it is becoming increasingly difficult to assemble a high-grade condition set such as this. Individually the dozen rarest characters would easily bring $50 in N. Mint condition and the other 74 average around $20 each or more, for total exceeding $2,000 but here they are in one shot, an instant high-grade collection.
