Item Description
1-5/8" beautiful condition white metal with about 97% original luster and in overall nearly uncirculated condition. This is listed as Sullivan 1856-2 and is the second-largest medal for the first Republican candidate for president. Front has high relief portrait and name while reverse shows scene from his earlier western land survey days while high on the mountaintops sits a building apparently representing the White House. Text is "Honor To Whom Honor Is Due." Reverse has about a dozen near pinpoint scattered black dots but they interfere little with the overall high gloss finish. Seldom offered and from the Joe Brown collection.
