Item Description
2" diameter, thick and heavy in white metal listed as Sullivan USG-1868-3. Designed by W. H. Key with high relief portrait on front while reverse has wreath surrounding text "Inaugurated President Of The United States March 4, 1869." While the silver luster is N. Mint, there are two small flaws on the obverse field. At upper right is a 1/16" shallow indentation and at lower left is a .5" hairline scratch which also makes a tiny nick in the raised rim edge. Both defects are quite small and overall condition of the piece far exceeds most examples. From the Joe Brown collection.
