Item Description
Founded by Rachel Cole in 1878, the group's full name was "The Ladies Aid Sewing Circle And Rescue Society." They met every Tuesday evening to quilt for raffles and to do other charitable work. The Ladies' Aid, under the guise of the Womens Christian Temperance Union, also fought for Womens Suffrage, after their success in 1893 when Colorado became the first state to grant women the vote, they worked to eradicate the devil of drink and to grant women the right to own property. This 2.75x7" ribbon has bit of gray age on top .75". The original safety pin remains in place. Over 90% bright and clean. Rare and first we've offered.
