Item Description
17.5x25" print in original 20.5x27.5" wood frame with gold luster trim. Text at top reads "Centennial Exhibition Buildings. Philadelphia." Birds-eye view of buildings with 3 insets titled "Independence Hall/Bunker Hill Monument/Faneuil Hall." Seated in center is Columbia with text below "And The Star Spangled Banner In Triumph Still Waves O'er The Land Of The Free And The Home Of The Brave." Oval images of the first 18 presidents (Washington-Grant) appear on each side. Lower area reads "1776/1876." Six additional oval portraits with names below appear at bottom below eagle. They are "Israel Putnam/Philip Schuyler/Horatio Gates/Nathaniel Greene/Benjamin Lincoln/John Sullivan." Bottom right and left vignettes are captioned "The Struggle For Liberty/Peace And Prosperity." Tiny publisher's name and date appear at bottom "Published By George Stinson & Co. Portland, Me" and "Entered According To Act Of Congress By Geo. Stinson & Co. In The Year 1876..." Print is aged, mostly along edges and appears to never been removed from frame. Print Fine. Frame has random wear/chips, and has original wood back and wavy glass of the period. Frame VG.
