Item Description
6" stag handle. 5" large blade. 2.75" small blade. c. 1860s or earlier. Both blades read "25 Furnace Hill Sheffield." This is the earliest address for this company. Not a locking blade. Large blade with some engraving still visible. Both blades show company name and have darkened with age. Both sides in the Civil War used these English and European Bowie knives that were imported before and during the American conflict. Fine. Rare.
