Item Description
Pair of 2.5x4x about .75" thick early 1900s clear glass paperweights, both from York, PA. Horizontal format has real photo of huge factory building with employees lined up in the foreground. Slight loss of detail on left and right edges and a .75" circular area just right of lower center. Most detail remains and caption is still readable as "The 20th Century Tooth Factory/Dentist's Supply Co.'s New Factory With Its 1,000 Employees/The Largest Manufactory Of Artificial Teeth In The World/Corner Grantley St. And College Ave. York, PA." Underside of weight has reptile skin-patterned paper which does have a small area of rubbing at the center but not through to the photo. The glass part of the weight is Mint. Second in vertical format showing tall, narrow building with storefront windows on the first floor reading "Peoples Laundry/Geo. C. Gillespie." Underside of photo has lightly faded stamp "Crescent Glass Novelty Co. York, PA." Both the image and glass are essentially flawless. See Boll Cafe button #464. Pair -
