Item Description
1.25" has W&H backpaper first used in 1900. Attractive design which includes gold lettering combines themes of patriotism, exposition excellence and political issues. Colorful emblems probably representing paper labels that went on the ends of barrels are for "Palacine Oil" and "Double Distilled & Deodorized Gasoline." At center is U.S. flag described above as "Freedoms Flag." Flanking the flag is gold text "Gold Medal-Omaha Exposition 1898." Below the emblems blue, black and red text reads "Anti-Monopoly Oils/Scofield/Shumer & Teagle/We Vote Against/Trusts And Monopolies." Extreme upper right rim edge has barely visible 1/8" gray mark. All else is totally bright and clean. Among the earliest celluloid artifacts of America's oil and gas industries. Extremely fine and displays N. Mint. Comes with Hake's COA.
