Item Description
Pair of 29x42.5" posters for c. late 1800s "Comedy Drama" by Daniel Hart and C.E. Callahan. Posters were printed by The Enquirer Job Printing Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio. Posters are elaborately illustrated with full-color lithography and feature scene of old man attacking mine boss with caption "Silence! Stroh Needs A Little Excitement" as woman calls for halt to violence. Mine factory in bkg. Second poster shows scene of heated argument with young girl holding wheelbarrow and caption "I Stay Here With You!" Once again, mine factory is seen in bkg. Each poster has numerous 2" and up repaired tears along margins with tape staining from tape on reverse showing through at areas. Margins also have chips and posters have begun to loosen from linen at areas. VG overall but main images remain clean and bright with a few areas of color touch-ups that blend nicely. Images display Fine. Great display.
