Item Description
Large and impressive 2'8"x9.5' outdoor banner made of parachute material with satin-stitched lettering and fringe bottom. Reads "There Is Only One!...Rose LaRose Queen Of Burlesque." c. 1950s. Grommets at top for outdoor hanging. As can be expected with outdoor banners of this sort, banner has fading and scattered staining with some slight areas of fading on letters. 7.5" tear at lower left-hand corner. .5" and 1.25" tear beside "Queen." Still displays VG. Possibly unique. Comes with 1956-1957 "Folly Theatre - Miss Rose LaRose" calendar card featuring bw photo image of Rose with much leg showing. Card is for Kansas City, MO. theater where Rose began engagement starting Nov. 22, 1956. N. Mint. Letter with WNJR Rollins Broadcasting Inc. return address is addressed to "Miss Rose LaRose - Featured Artist Empire Burlesque Newark, N.J." and is postmarked Oct. 28, 1954. As can be expected, envelope has moderate wear and tear from mailing. VG. Contains 8.5x11" typed letter on WNJR letterhead from fan of Rose stating he saw her show and enjoyed it thoroughly. Jocko Maxwell, Sports Director of WNJR also requests an autographed photo. Folded as mailed. Exc.
