Item Description
This is the only known example in the 1.75" size and is from the Hake Collection and Collectible Pin-Back Buttons photo example, entertainment section #1037. We've also seen two in 1.25" size. Upper rim reads "Under All Circumstances Keep An Even Mind." A few raised surface bumps but totally clean and complete with St. Louis Button Co. backpaper. Likely issued at the time of his death in 1910. As the button states, he was known as the "Poughkeepsie Seer." He was born in 1826 and had the gift of clairvoyance at an early age. He later became a prolific writer, diagnosed diseases, predicted cars and typewriters decades before their invention and became known as John The Baptist Of Spiritualism. Google him for the full story. Rare and Exc. Comes with Hake's COA.
