Extremely well-made 20" tall doll made of heavy felt, fur-covered material and velveteen. c. 1930s by famous Italian doll company Lenci. Intricately detailed, Puss appears in velveteen jacket with lace felt collar and feathered felt hat. He carries a separate plush rabbit in his right hand as in the famous story where he presents the king with a rabbit in order to gain favor for his master the Marquis de Carabas. Doll also has felt gloves, belt with buckle and jacket buttons. Original green glass eyes. Some fur off of rabbit and Puss's tail. Fine. Large and impressive with great design and details.
