Auction #183 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1290 in auction 183
Item Description
1.75" stickpin holds die-cut celluloid flag picturing small portrait of "Karl Marx" and noting the date of his death 1883 and the 50th anniversary for which this piece was issued in 1933. White text at top reads "Workers Of The World Unite!" Black text along bottom edge reads "You Have Nothing To Lose But Your Chains." This marvelous piece came from a 1930s left-wing collection we recently acquired. We managed to get a few pieces in this auction as items #387-398 and as a group of pre-World War II items #721-735. More to come in future auctions. First we recall seeing. See following Marx item.
