Complete set of 4 Captain Marvel Family statuettes produced in 1946 by R.W. Kerr Co. Set includes Captain Marvel, Captain Marvel Jr., Mary Marvel and Marvel Bunny. Each comes with original 4x7x2.5" deep nicely illustrated C.C. Beck-designed box which features illustration of Captain Marvel holding Mary Marvel statuette in hand while back shows illustrations of other statuettes. Other side panels include additional text plus images of lightning bolts coming from dark clouds. All boxes have original packing material. Each box has enclosed statuette name stamped on end panel. Captain Marvel box has moisture staining on end panel but has no clips or cuts. Fine. 6.5" tall solid painted plastic figure stands on base with his name on front and Fawcett Publications Inc. copyright on back. Kerr decal remains almost totally complete with only a few hairlines slightly affecting black line border. N. Mint. Captain Marvel Jr. box is free of clips or cuts but has tiny 3/8" puncture by image of Mary Marvel statuette. Exc. display. 6.25" solid painted plastic figure stands on base with "Capt. Marvel Jr." name on front and Fawcett copyright on back. Kerr Co. decal on other side has a few hairlines but all intact. Initial production run featured a thicker cape, this is one of those early varieties, the difference being very evident as all other others in this set are the second, thinner variety. Scarce version. N. Mint. Mary Marvel box is free of clips or cuts. A near perfect example, as nice as these boxes can be found. Exc./N. Mint. 5.75" tall solid painted plastic figure stands on base with "Mary Marvel" name and Fawcett copyright on back. 1/8x.75" sliver flake to decal which remains 90% complete. N. Mint. End panel has 1-7/8x2.25" area of surface paper removed, thus removing company information. Smaller 5/8x1" area of surface paper off, removing Kerr name. This is a common occurance with boxes of this nature as most of these areas were removed by Kerr employees. Box remains clean and tight and o/w displays Exc. 5.5" solid painted plastic figure stands on base with "Marvel Bunny" name on front and Fawcett copyright on back. Missing Kerr Co. decal on underside. Most examples of this statue have damaged or repaired ears. This has well-done repair to each ear which hardly shows unless viewed closely.
