Item Description
Large 14.5x18.25x5" deep box contains all plastic assembly kit #470 ©1964 Universal Pictures Company Inc. Box design includes great large portrait image of Frankenstein as portrayed by Glenn Strange plus photos of the model being assembled and put into action. Box notes assembled model is almost 2' high with arms that move up and down. Frankenstein comes with headstone piece and simulated chain link which attaches to this. Parts are black/light and dark gray plastic. Includes instruction sheet and original paint brush. Missing are 3 small glass bottles of paint, o/w 100% complete and unused. Gold parts sealed in bag though all links have been removed from sprues. Bag has been sealed with staple, other bags remain unsealed, likely as issued. Instruction sheet has very slightly tanned with age but is exceptionally clean. Box remains tight with color rubs and top main panel. Box also has some corner tip wear. Fine overall. The largest figure kit Aurora ever released, it was designed by Marvin Glass who also designed Mr. Machine, Mousetrap and the Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots among others. Affectionately referred to in the hobby as "Big Frankie" and is also considered to be the holy grail of Aurora models by most collectors. Rare. See built-up Big Frankie model kit #2313.
