Item Description
14x22" thin cardboard poster for Sep. 23, 1956 concert at the Liberty Ballroom in South River. Concert headliner was Lillian Briggs, the "Queen Of Rock 'N Roll" of Epic Records label with Eddy Grady and His Orchestra also appearing. Briggs was a favorite of Alan Freed and he included her in many of his shows produced in New York, having her come out on stage in skin-tight lamè dresses to perform her hit vocal "I Want You To Be My Baby." Besides Freed's attentions, Briggs was also friends with such well-known stars as Frank Sinatra, Kenny Rogers, Gladys Knight, Dionne Warwick, Barbra Streisand, Burt Reynolds, Merv Griffin, Sammy Davis Jr., Connie Francis, Patsy Cline, Nat King Cole, etc. Poster has 2" tear with .5" chip at bottom middle margin as well as 3 staple holes at bottom, middle and top. Moderately aged at margins. VG/Fine.
