31.5x40.5" linen poster depicts busy caricatured scene of San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury District, complete with the Golden Gate Bridge in foreground. c. 1968. "Hippie Summer Camp" tented commune is on bank in foreground and main city scene shows labeled buildings including "Matrix, Fillmore Auditorium, Western Front, Avalon, Broad-Way, The Big Boob, The Establishment, Family Dog." Poster is by Sparta Graphics and David Schiller. Bottom right-hand corner of scene shows large concert area with banners for Grateful Dead, Big Brother, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Moby Grape. Concert area is filled with people streaming in from Golden Gate bridge. Coit Tower visible at left. Large ramshackle "Jefferson Airplane" flying above city dispensing musical notes and flowers. San Franciso's landmark trolley going up street. Radio station KFRC The Big 610 antenna at left. Highest building is topped by "LOVE" banner. Alcatraz is seen in bay flying "HATE" banner. Concert poster artist Mouse name seen in graffiti on wall. Rolled with holes at margins from posting. .75x1" piece punched out at poster center has been professionally repaired. 3" diameter circular mark below Jefferson Airplane. Poster shows wear and is VG. Great detail. Rare.
