Auction #195-Part II
Items 994-2570 in Auction 195
Item Description
12.5" long wood with paper labels. Toy No. 479 introduced in 1941 and made for just 2 years. Unusual in that only Huey and Louie are included, for some reason Dewey was left out. Each nephew is depicted holding an umbrella which is a wood disk attached to a spring. Toy has an unused appearance with original string still attached but with one notable flaw. On the left side of Donald at bottom, there is a .25x3" segment missing along with the cardboard-covered clicker that was attached to it. This does not really affect its appearance for display and is not visible at all if the opposite side is displayed. The front wheels remain intact and as noted in the Fisher Price book by Murray & Fox, it is difficult to find this toy with the front wheels intact as they were prone to breaking. Labels show just light wear, images have a few scattered pinholes. Appearance remains bright and clean. Fine. Scarce pull toy. From the Deak Stagemyer Collection.
