Item Description
5x6.5x.75" deep box has applied full color label. This has a .5x3/8" bit of missing surface paper to the right of Old Maid's face. Early repair of edges with glue. Still displays Fine. Box holds 48 cards, 23 pairs of matching caricatures and their wives plus Old Maid and also Old Bachelor to make a total set of 24 pairs, 48 pieces. Characters include many different - Mr. & Mrs. Milk Skimmer, Mr. & Mrs. Sissy Boy, Mr. & Mrs. Peewee, Mr. & Mrs. Brains and Mr. & Mrs. Lazy Cop whose baby is shown on his wife's lap suckling on a hose attached to a bottle marked "Graft". One of the earliest Old Maid games, pre-1900, probably around 1880-85. Cards show wear from light to moderate in the form of aging and handling. Overall still Fine.
