Item Description
14x18-1/8" thin paper poster with small 2.5x4" 1927 calendar pad. Calendar back shows nice large image of "The American Idol Rodolfo Valentino," one of Valentino's many performing names. At each corner, Valentino is pictured in some of his memorable roles - The Eagle, Monsieur Beaucaire, The Sheik and as he appeared in "Blood And Sand." Likely issued as a memorial item as Valentino died an early death in Aug., 1926. Heavily worn with tears, aging and creases. Applied to cardboard backer. VG. 9.25x12.25" 6-page "There's A New Star In Heaven To-Night" sheet music bears bw image of Valentino and his name. Song was written as a memorial to Valentino by J. Keirn Brennan, Irving Mills and Jimmy McHugh. Sheet music published by Jack Mills Inc. music publishers. Moderate handling wear with dust soiling and .25" area of insect damage along bottom right-hand side. VG. 2.75x4" 4-page sewing needle booklet bears bw booklet of Valentino and is Mexican issue by the Mexico Advertising Co. contains 4 original sewing needles. Light aging with some scattered surface wear on back. VF. Last 3 items in lot are "Rudolph Valentino" cigar box labels, measuring 7x9" and 2 measuring 2.25x5.5". All 3 bear same art portrait of Valentino and his facsimile signature. Exc.
