Item Description
Lot consists of 4 awards issued to Gloria Swanson mostly noting her as an honorary citizen of various cities (Evansville, IN; New Orleans, LA, and a citizen of Texas). Swanson also received an award from the governor of Kentucky stating she has been commissioned a "Kentucky Colonel." This and the 2 city citizen awards come in original frames (Evansville with glass). Texas certificate is unframed and shows moderate wear/aging. VG. Others show scattered wear and are Fine. Also included in lot is 4" dia. by 1.5" deep tin with nice Art Nouveau image by noted illustrator Henry Clive of Swanson in profile on lid, her facsimile signature on her neck. c. 1920s. Scattered traces of bare metal showing on edges and a few 1/8" areas of oxidation which blend somewhat. VG.
