Lot includes 11”x14” lobby card for the 1947 re-release of the classic 1931 film starring Boris Karloff. Green-tone card has large title with stalking Frankenstein Monster on bottom marquee and card shows controversial image from film showing Fritz the Hunchback whipping the Monster as Dr. Frankenstein holds torch. This scene was initially censored from the 1931 film and was later restored. Card has pinholes at corners and a small 1/8” tear on right hand margin. Lightly ages with some light handling wear, still a VF example. Second piece in set is “Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man” film herald measuring 3 3/8”x13.5”. Herald is for the classic 1943 film starring Bela Lugosi and Lon Chaney Jr. This is the first film to team two monsters in a film, a practice that continues to this day. Herald shows art of Frankenstein Monster and Wolf Man fighting with photo of swooning woman and frightened couple in bottom corners. Blank marquee at top. Printed on thin paper, herald has aged at top and bottom margin and is fragile in .25” area. .25”x8.5” section of moisture staining at bottom. Small chip off of upper and lower left hand corners. FN.
