Item Description
4.75" long tin litho marked "Germany," pre-1914. Has raised scales on his back and a serrated jaw to simulate sharp teeth. His head and front legs are one piece and his hind legs are as well. They are hooked to the body so that when he is pushed across the floor both front and back wiggle about. This particular one is marked "A Souvenir" on one side and on the other "Universal Theater Concessions Co., Chicago, Ill." One of a series of penny toys that were used as movie promotions and given away in Chicago and midwestern areas. One tiny pinpoint paint nick on tail o/w displays Exc. Neat design.
