Item Description
8.5" long tin litho with built-in key marked on both sides of trunk "Mortimer Snerd ©1939 Edgar Bergen." Top of trunk is also marked "M. Snerd USA" along with "Vermont" travel sticker and another one with no readable text. Back and sides of trunk also marked with his name and Marx text and logos. Toy works well and travels about in an erratic fashion, Mortimer's head turns and car rears up every now and then. Car has some scattered nicks and scratches mostly evident on outside of large wheels and one side of hood. Mortimer's face also has some wear on the high spots on both of his embossed cheeks. Overall still a nice item for display and somewhat scarcer than Charlie McCarthy version. Fine.
