Auction #196 - Part II
Item numbers 976 though 2670 in auction 196
Item Description
6.5x10x9" dovetailed wooden box holds plated steel and painted cast iron engine. Paper label is dated 1919. Both ends of box have full paper labels as shown. These reveal this was an electrically operated steam engine, however, the cord is not present nor are the instructions. Box label states they were contained on the inside of lid. Lid is no longer present. All over dust soiling/aging. Fine. Engine itself has a plate which only has about a third of text remaining, rest has worn off. Since cord is missing, we are unable to determine if this would work, however the cord is one of the early two-pronged black cords that came with other early appliances such as toasters so would probably not be hard to track one down for operation. Steam engine o/w appears complete and black base has a few flakes but all plated parts appear Exc. Interesting toy. From the Tomart Archives and comes with COA signed by Tom Tumbusch and Ted Hake.
